The Family Dairy Farms project team has been cooperating with the Ministry of Finance media for several years, attracting new investors and informing the community about current opportunities in the investment sector of Ukraine. This cooperation includes not only news and analytics, but also active participation in the Ministry of Finance’s conferences on investment and finance.
On November 9, 2024, the investment conference “Living on Interest” (https://www.zhyty-na-vidsotky.com.ua/) was held in Kyiv by the Ministry of Finance. The event discussed trends and problems of modern investment. Below are some interesting facts:
Only 11% of Ukrainians have investments today, although 33% have tried investing before.
The main areas for investment are cryptocurrency (16%), real estate (7%), and bonds (5%).
Most investors (68%) are focused on short-term investments of up to 3 years.
85% of real estate sellers are now abroad.
Portfolio investors hold about 60% of their capital in foreign currency (foreign stocks and bonds).
The reputation of the beneficiary (developer, business owner, top management team) and its history of cooperation with investors are important criteria when choosing investment objects.
Legislative regulation of cryptocurrencies is still under development. The current taxation rules apply to them, but there are no control mechanisms yet.
Land prices could double over the next five years. However, small farmers have difficulty accessing the land market, as they are unable to enter an auction and buy more than 500 hectares. On the contrary, agriholdings are actively buying up land and managing prices.
Forecasts for 2025 look challenging. The main problems are corruption, distrust of the legislature, difficulties in taxation, increased utility tariffs, unlikely lending to SMEs under 5-7-9, and growing staff shortages.
The shadow sector continues to be one of the biggest challenges for the state budget. See image Comparative analysis of the largest shadow economy schemes.
We were especially pleased to see our partner, the investor of the Family Dairy Farms project, Roman Kushnir (https://www.facebook.com/rokushnir), among the conference participants. We are glad to have had the opportunity to talk and take a photo together!
