On September 10, an evening Board event with Mykhailo Korylkevych took place in Prague. The meeting was held in an open-discussion format and moderated by Ihor Chumachenko.
The discussion focused on the practical experience of the founder of Family Dairy Farms and Chairman of the Ukrainian Cooperative Federation in building and scaling a business, raising capital, and managing operations amid economic and political instability.
Mykhailo Korylkevych spoke about how a business model evolves as a company grows, how to make decisions about attracting external capital, and how to maintain effective management and control during the scaling process.
A separate part of the discussion focused on building a resilient business — from risk diversification and decentralization to team building and establishing systems that allow a business to operate without the owner’s constant personal involvement.
Using Family Dairy Farms as an example, Mykhailo Korylkevych demonstrated how cooperation and shared infrastructure can combine the advantages of scale with the independence of individual farmers.
One of the key takeaways from the discussion was that business resilience is determined not only by its size, but by its ability to build a system that enables risks to be distributed, partners to be engaged, and the business to continue developing regardless of circumstances.
